Shannan E. Goss
Trial & Appellate
Shannan E. Goss practices in the areas of trial and appellate law in both state and federal court. His practice emphasizes the representation of businesses and individuals in contract, oil and gas, and real property-related disputes.
Prior to joining DGC Law, Shannan was an associate at a well-known law firm in Fort Worth, Texas, where he obtained significant experience in matters relating to oil and gas, real estate, construction, partnership disputes, shareholder derivative suits, business torts, employment discrimination, and first amendment issues. His oil and gas background includes handling royalty claims, lease termination claims, surface damage, trespass, and access issues. Shannan has significant pretrial experience in expert witness depositions, mediations, and various pretrial hearings, as well as trial experience in bench trials and arbitrations.
Shannan has represented publicly traded corporations, mid-sized privately owned companies, and individuals operating in a range of industries that include oil and gas, construction, real estate development, banking, automotive, and hotel/hospitality. Shannan approaches his cases by engaging in an early and ongoing analysis of the merits of the case, and a continuing dialogue with the client about how the development of the case aligns with the client's business interests. He believes this type of open communication is the best way to attain an optimal outcome, including successful settlement of the case.
Shannan's accomplishments include prevailing in a bench trial of a breach of contract claim as well as an arbitration action involving a construction dispute and obtaining summary judgment in a federal court action where he was defending a non-profit entity in a high-profile employment discrimination suit.
