Jacob M. Davidson
Trial & Appellate
Jacob M. Davidson practices in the areas of trial and appellate law. He joined DGC Law in 2007 after clerking with the firm in the summers of 2005 and 2006.
Since joining DGC Law, Jacob has been involved in numerous lawsuits, including contract disputes relating to oil and gas leases, unit/operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and employment agreements, as well as environmental suits, business tort matters, lawsuits involving false advertising claims, and disputes alleging breach of fiduciary duties. Jacob has prepared corporate representatives and fact witnesses for deposition and trial testimony, taken and defended party, fact witness, and expert depositions, argued various pretrial motions, and taken the lead in pretrial motion and trial briefing that has included motions for summary judgment, motions to exclude experts, jury charges, and trial briefs.
Jacob is frequently involved in the firm's representation of Fortune 500 companies, publicly traded independent oil and gas companies, privately-held companies of all sizes, and individual business and mineral owners throughout Texas and Eastern New Mexico.
He was on the trial team that represented a large multinational oil and gas company in arbitration and post-arbitration proceedings against two other major energy companies involving a dispute related to the environmental indemnity provisions contained in the parties' purchase and sale agreement. He also assisted in the trial and appellate representation of a large oil and gas owner/operator in a case involving complex issues regarding the alleged failure to protect against drainage from an adjoining oil and gas lease.
Jacob is actively involved in DGC Law's recruiting efforts and has participated in the on-campus interview programs at Texas Tech University and Baylor University and in the firm's summer associate program.
